Blended Learning at Oregon CPR
Online CPR, First Aid, and Other Training
Oregon CPR is proud to offer blended learning options for those who need or want certification in:
- CPR, First Aid, and AED usage
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- AHA Bloodborne Pathogens
This is offered through the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver and HeartCode programs, as well as the American Red Cross. These two-part courses enable you to complete online cognitive training quickly and flexibly, paired with an in-person skills assessment available from Oregon CPR.
Our Take: Online Training for Renewals
The life-saving skills offered online by the American Heart Association and American Red Cross are intended to help you do just that—save lives. With that in mind, Oregon CPR strongly recommends that first-time certification be completed in-person rather than online, with blended learning Heartsaver and HeartCode options reserved for renewals.
Similarly, if your certification has lapsed and it has been over 2 years since your last certification, we recommend attending an in-person class.
You can explore our in-person trainings on our calendar, where you’ll find CPR/AED, First Aid, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and more.

How Do Online CPR Courses Work?
Blended learning courses are a two-part process. Part 1 is an independent online course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and must be completed prior to Part 2, the in-person skills practice and evaluation. After successful completion of Part 1 and 2, a 2-year certification will be issued to the student.
After purchasing a blended learning online course through Oregon CPR, we will email directions and an access code to complete the online portion of the course. Access codes will be emailed within 24 hours of completed orders. If the order is placed between Friday-Sunday, the code or link will be emailed Monday morning.
After completion of the blended learning online course, students will need to visit Oregon CPRs website and register for a skills evaluation session. Students will also need to provide a copy of their blended learning course completion certificate to Oregon CPR prior to the skills practice & evaluation day at Oregon CPR. Skills evaluation cannot be completed without presentation of the course completion certificate, and additional charges will apply for rescheduling.
